
Udhyam Registration – MSME Certificate
An Udhyam Registration Certificate is granted when a company completes the MSME registration process. It is an e-certificate. It is granted to the company in a move to digital India to make the streamline process better, safe and secure.
The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Businesses has introduced the new and enhanced Udyam Registration Portal, a technology-first approach, to encourage and foster the expansion of MSME in India and offer all necessary assistance to MSMEs across the country.
The components of an Udyam Registration, often referred to as an MSME Registration, are a governmental endorsement, a Recognition Certificate, and a Unique Number. If you want to verify that your small or medium firm is legal, this is essential.
The Ministry of MSME, GOI, is responsible for conducting Udyam Registration for micro- and smaller-sized corporate organisations.
While the labels MSME Registration and Udyog Aadhaar are still used, they refer to an earlier registration procedure in which a UAM Number was issued as verification. The MSME Registration/Udyog Aadhaar has been transferred to the new program known as Udyam Registration with effect from the 1st 2020. Changing to Udyam Registration is required, even if you currently have MSME Registration.
After receiving your Udyam Registration Number, it typically takes 1 to 2 weeks to produce the Udyam Certificate.

Eligibility criteria for Micro, Small and Medium enterprise
An enterprise shall be classified as a micro, small or medium enterprise on the basis of the following criteria, namely: —
- A micro enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed one crore rupees and turnover does not exceed five crore rupees;
- A small enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed ten crore rupees and turnover does not exceed fifty crore rupees; and
- A medium enterprise, where the investment in plant and machinery or equipment does not exceed fifty crore rupees and turnover does not exceed two hundred and fifty crore rupees.
